Foxburg Festival 2009

In the picturesque Borough of Foxburg, Pennsylvania, the breathtaking leaves and natural beauty of the Allegheny River await you during the 6th Annual Fall, Art, Wine and Food Festival (aka Foxburg Festival). Mark your calendars for SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11. This wonderful event features great food and wine, musical performances  and arts and crafts. Foxburg continues our makeover with even more new stores and activities. The Festival is the perfect getaway for a family-filled day of fun. Our improved transit system will help you get in and out of the festival as quickly as you need.

Pre-Festival events on Saturday, October 10 include Allegheny Grille’s famous Clam Bake and Foxburg Wine Cellars’ Karaoke Contest. The clambake is by reservation only, begins at 5:30 PM and is set outside along the river to live music and great fall food. For reservations, please call 724-659-5701. Foxburg Wine Cellars is in search of “Foxburg’s Idol” and has coordinated with Randy O and a panel of judges to find our singing sensation. Contest runs from 2–6PM on Saturday and the six finalists will perform on Festival Sunday at 6PM. There is also a self-guided  Farm and Country Driving Tour of several farms and rural businesses in the A-C Valley river region from 10am-5pm. 

The Foxburg Festival will run Sunday, October 11 from 11AM–6PM. Main Street will be lined with artists, crafters, food vendors and numerous other attractions while live musical performances continue throughout the day. Nearly 50 vendors will be showing off their skills, ranging from paintings and pottery to mosaics and jewelry. Festival foods include such favorites as funnel cakes, cotton candy, Italian sausageskettle corn and much more. Entertainment along side the Caboose begins at 11AM with our “Nashville Star” Jason Eustice and continues with Well Strung Blues Band from 1:30-3:30PM. The Max Schang Blues Trio will play from 4-6PM and the evening will conclude with the crowning of Foxburg’s Idol” from amongst our six finalists. Live broadcasts from MAJIK 99.3 and 104.5 will share the excitement of the festival with our area.

Foxburg Wine Cellars will lead the Festival celebration with several weekend specials in addition to the extensive display of retail items, wine accessories and 31 varieties of wine that are waiting to be sampled! Try a chance at winning some exciting packages and prizes at the Chinese Auction held alongside of  the winery. Some kids activities including  a coin dig, balloons and other exciting events will be held throughout the day between the winery and library.

The Allegheny Grille brings German tastes and breathtaking views of the Allegheny to the festival. The restaurant will offer authentic German dishes as well as several menu favorites. The German buffet outside under the enormous tent along the river will feature German classics like Kielbasa, sauerkraut, potato saladand feature Oktoberfest beers and live entertainment. Inside, a special menu and buffet await those who want to experience one of the most beautiful riverfront locations in the area.

The Foxburg Inn is opening up their beautiful deck that faces the Allegheny, so bring your camera for breathtaking photo opportunities. This unique hotel offers 24 riverfront rooms with state of the art features such as Wi-Fi and flat screen televisions. Stop by and register for a great door prize and learn more about one of the area’s finest hotels.

Lincoln Hall (ARCA) doors will be open with performances on the Mighty Wurlitzer and a visual presentation of Foxburg & Riverstone. Catch a ride there from one of the nostalgic horse-drawn carriages that will be about for the day.

At Divani Chocolate Boutique, you can play the vibraharp with Uncle Herb and get your face painted as you indulge in a variety of gourmet chocolates. Enjoy your day with a chai latte or deliciously rich hot cocoa at this sweet spot! 

Foxburg Pizza and Country Store and Foxburg Tour and Trails are a must see on festival day. Watch the piping hot pizza pies fly and check out the adjoining store with bulk candies, Foxburg logo apparel and other fantastic gift items. Segway tours will be demonstrated all day. Be sure to see Foxburg from a whole new viewpoint aboard a Segway.

The Red Brick offers old fashioned hand dipped ice cream that will bring back memories as you shop for great gift items.

Finally, Foxburg’s newest addition is 9 Main Shoppes. This unique store offers everything from leather motorcycle gear to antiques. This beautiful new store has it all.
